Post 237 - Balaton American Legion
Post 237 Balaton American Legion (Stone and Groeneweg)
The American Legion was established in the United States on March 15, 1919. The organization was chartered by Congress after World War I and was founded by members of the American Expeditionary Forces who were stationed in Europe. The American Legion is the largest veterans service organization in the country. It advocates for veterans, service members, and their families. The organization also mentor’s youth, promotes patriotism, and supports national security.
The Balaton American Legion meets the second Monday of every month (downtown Balaton) to discuss old and new business. The primary means of helpfulness is through charitable gaming such as bingo at the Eastbay Golf Course (every other Thursday), E-Tabs and Pull Tabs that are sold at the local Balaton Municipal Liquor Store. It is through the publics use of these games that the Balaton American Legion can contribute to many worth while community endeavors. Anyone that has ever served in the United States Armed Forces is eligible for membership through the Legion. We welcome any new members!
